Get Caught Up in “The WEB!”

Westlake Elementary Band!

Come have a great time learning an instrument, making great friends, and preparing yourself to one day be in the Westlake Thunder Bands!

Our band meets two days a week for 45 minutes each time.

We offer the following instruments for the WEB!

What is the schedule?
- Woodwind and brass players will meet Tuesday and Thursday and have two classes
  - 4:00 PM: Woodwind Class
  - 5:00 PM: Brass Class
Does it cost?
- Yes. We provide high quality education. We charge $100 for the year. We will have a Spring Concert.
When does it start?
- We will begin spinning the WEB on Thursday, October 20th.
Where does WEB meet?
- This year, WEB will be meeting at Vista Heights Middle School.
Does my student need to know how to read music to be in the WEB?
- NO! If they know their alphabet up to G, we can teach them the rest!
Do we have to rent instrument from a music store or can we rent from the school.
- Unfortunately, VHMS and LMMS do not have instruments to rent. You will need to go through a music store. See our web page (hahaha) for more details. Please check with Mr. Lemen or Mr. Carter before buying online. There are some brands that are HORRIBLE and will make your child’s experience very frustrating.
What book will we need?
- VHMS Bands (and the WEB) use “Habits of a Successful Beginner Band Musician” . You can get these at Summerhays or Bert Murdock, however they are on preorder right now.
- All students will need a 3 ring binder and a pencil.
What else will we need?
- Just your instrument, reeds (WW), and a GREAT attitude!!!
