In the past several years, online businesses have given parents many other options for purchasing instruments. Unfortunately, this also means that there are many low quality instruments on the market. While I can fully understand the desire to save money, especially in this economy, I strongly suggest against these “bargain instruments”. They tend to be of very low quality, and often make it more difficult on students to play. I strongly suggest that students purchase instruments from local music stores if possible.
